Money Monday$: Where Personal Finance Meets Common Sense

Posted on March 1, 2010 in: Money Mondays

Welcome to Money Monday$ at WilliamPaid. Each Monday, we will provide you with information about your money, your credit and your finances. One Monday might provide some ideas to save money. Another might have some great frugal vacation ideas. Or, Money Monday may give you some information about your student loans. We can even address any questions or issues you’re having - just let us know.

Before we dig in this week, we want to share our WilliamPaid philosophy on money and credit. We’ve found that young adults understand the importance of establishing good credit. That said, the overwhelming majority don’t know much about how to get good credit or even what their credit score is. (See what people like you had to say.)

We think that the reason for this disconnect is that, while information is available, it is also overcomplicated. The information can be daunting, even intimidating. It doesn’t have to be.

The lessons can be simple - build credit without going into debt, how to save money on your student loans, what are the best strategies for credit cards. At WilliamPaid, we want to simplify and demystify credit. In addition to Money Mondays on our blog, we provide a wealth of information about credit and you on our website.

Here’s how we look at credit: Building good credit is a lot like flossing your teeth. If you don’t floss, before you know it, you end up with a cavity that can take a lot of pain and aggravation to fix. But, by spending a little time and attention, voila - no cavities. Here, we just want to help you pay a little attention to your credit - so you don’t end up with a challenging credit file that can take time to make right.

A little prevention goes a long way.

P.S. For all of you Dr. Fish followers, don’t worry. Dr. Fish will still be making appearances on the WilliamPaid blog. Stay tuned!
