All month I’ve been building up to the biggest weekend in October - Halloweekend. I’ve discussed haunted attractions, costumes and even famous hauntings, but now comes the most important question. How should you celebrate this spooky holiday? Check out these hot spots that Chicago renters will be hitting this weekend to partake in the festivities.
- Wrigleyville
- The Devil Made Me Drink It: This party is a two-day celebration hosted by Casey Morans (3660 N. Clark St.). Friday night will include costume contests and a drink package of $30. From a graveyard beer garden to even creepier decorations inside and special cocktails for the occasion - this sounds like one event not to miss.
- Halloweve Party: This semi-exclusive party, sponsored by The Chicago Sport and Social Club, will invade John Barleycorn (3524 N. Clark St.) on Saturday. With DJs spinning on both levels, it is sure to be one crazy party. You’ll have to plan ahead to partake, though, as tickets to the event can only be bought online before Saturday.
- Halligan Halloween Party: Halligan (2274 N. Lincoln Ave.) hosts their 10th annual Halloween party this Saturday. Twenty dollars gets you your choice of domestic drafts, cocktails and more. Check out the Lincoln Park scene at this Halloween classic.
- Hogan Knows Halloween: Come out to Lion Head Pub (2251 N. Lincoln Ave.) and watch reality TV star, Nick Hogan, perform a special DJ set. With no cover, costume contests and an all-night dance party, this is one party not to miss on Saturday.
- Sopoween: Check out the “Best Saturday Night Party on Southport” hosted by Sopo (3418 N. Southport Ave.). Choose to enjoy the deals as you go or get the party package for $30 and make a night of it. Also, don’t miss the Jersey Horror SNOOK-A-LIKE contest on Sunday.
